45 musicians from Diamond Bar High School's instrumental music program have secured spots in the All-Southern California Honor Ensembles. Through a selection process involving recorded auditions, these students demonstrated their exceptional musical talent, earning positions among the ensemble. Joining forces with 292 musicians from 89 schools across Southern California, these talented individuals are set to contribute to a collaboration that showcases the diversity and depth of musical talent in the region. Congratulations to Academy Clarinetist Ian Kim (Class of 2024) for being named a YoungArts National Arts Competition Winner! The YoungArts National Competition aims to spotlight and recognize talented student musicians across the nation. Ian submitted multiple recordings to a panel of judges for review, and was selected among a pool of over 7000 applicants. As a winner, Ian will receive a scholarship, and his name will be featured alongside other talented musicians. CONGRATULATIONS!! Congratulations to Bryan Chiu (French Horn & Composition, c/o 2023) for being selected as the Steven Stucky Fellow Chair of the LA Philharmonic's Composer Fellowship Program (CFP)! As the Stucky Fellow Chair, Bryan has a unique opportunity to work collaboratively across the LA Phil’s increasingly interconnected, youth-centered programs by composing a new work to be premiered by the LA Phil during Symphonies for Schools, as well as for our young orchestra musicians.
