Important Dates
May 1, 2025 (11:59pm PST) - Early Action Application & Pre-screening Submission
We offer an Early Action application process for applicants who will no longer have access to school instruments after the academic year, who need to finalize their school decisions for the following year, and who already know they will be unavailable on the scheduled live audition date, June 14. A pre-screening recording is required at the time of submission. Selected applicants will be contacted for an interview and, if necessary, a live audition.
June 1, 2025 (11:59pm PST) - Regular Application & Recorded Audition Submission
Participation in the live audition is strongly recommended. Applicants attending the live audition are not required to submit recordings. Audition times for Saturday, June 14, will be communicated by June 7. If you are unavailable on the audition day and did not submit an Early Action application, you must include a recorded audition with your application. We will follow up regarding an interview if necessary.

Live auditions will be held on Saturday, June 14, at the DBHS Instrumental Music Building.

Live Audition - Saturday, June 14
- Please prepare your audition according to the guidelines outlined in the Audition Requirements for your instrument.
- Instrumentalists: An accompanist is not required.
- Vocalists: An accompanist is recommended. If you choose to use pre-recorded accompaniment, please upload the audio file with your application.
- Submit the Audition Repertoire Form prior to your live audition.
Pre-Screening and Audition Videos
- If submitting a Pre-Screening for Early Action or a Recorded Audition for Regular Admission, ensure your video follows the Audition Requirements for your instrument.
- Instrumentalists: An accompanist is not required.
- Vocalists: An accompanist or pre-recorded accompaniment is recommended.
- Position the camera so that you, your instrument, and your full range of motion are visible at all times.
- Name video files using the format: Instrument_Last Name, First Name (e.g., Flute_Smith, John.mov).
- If submitting multiple videos, label them clearly (e.g., Flute_Smith, John_Scales.mov, Flute_Smith, John_Bach.m4v).
- Before performing a solo piece, state your full name and instrument in the video.
- All videos must be UNEDITED.
- Submit the Audition Repertoire Form along with your application.

This document helps determine your chamber ensemble placement and does not impact admission decisions. It differs from the audition repertoire list and should include:
