Audition Requirements

Strings, Winds and Brass
1.     Your choice of two scales (2-3 octaves) and chromatic scale.
2.     Two contrasting movements from the solo repertoire or etudes that demonstrate lyrical phrasing and technical proficiency. 
OR A movement or an etude that demonstrate both lyrical phrasing and technical proficiency. All State audition pieces are also acceptable.
3.     Sight reading

Piano
1.     Your choice of two scales in 4 octaves
2.     All of the following (They must be memorized)

• One composition by J.S. Bach (a fugue from The Well-Tempered Clavier or a fugal movement of a suite) 
• The first movement from a sonata by Haydn, Mozart or Beethoven 
• One composition from a composer of the Romantic period or 20th century 

3.     Sight reading

Percussion
1.     Your choice of one major scale, one minor scale and chromatic scale (2-3 octaves).
2.     Marimba solo from the standard marimba repertoire or studies. All State audition pieces are also acceptable.
3.     Snare Drum Solo

Guitar/Harp
1.     Your choice of two scales (2-3 octaves) and chromatic scale.
2.     Two contrasting movements from the solo repertoire or etudes that demonstrate lyrical phrasing and technical proficiency. 
OR A movement or an etude that demonstrate both lyrical phrasing and technical proficiency.

Voice
1.     Two contrasting selections (Both selections must be memorized)
